The Saint’s Dungeon Business - Chapter 5
The Saint’s Dungeon Affairs – 5
[NSFW]
Pow!
“My name is Guwon. People call me Guwon the Red Leg,” said Guwon, slaying the rabbit monster running toward him with a single blow of his right foot that was now stained with dark red color.
It’s been three hours since the most bitter first combat. With a tiny hope I tried storing my shoe in my inventory and taking it back. But as expected, against my hope, the inventory never recognized the blood and shoe separately. So now I am sublimating the wetness of my foot as the background of my character.
It seems that the beginning of this dungeon is mainly small animal monsters. I have been fighting large rats or rabbits for three hours.
I wouldn’t get killed by these monsters anyway – thank you, stat difference – I learned my lesson from the first experience and have been killing the monsters with just enough power to not get blood on me. I don’t know when I’ll fail, so I did all the work with my right foot that already got wet with blood. At the beginning I kicked too weakly and got counterattacked, and I once witnessed another death by explosion, but now I got used to it and succeeded in getting them with a kick.
And I put the dead bodies in the inventory. I remember the manual saying the world developed upon the magic stone dropped by the monsters of the dungeon. I’m guessing I could get them out of these bodies, but I don’t have a way to do it since I have no tools. Also, there must be monster parts I could sell, so I figured it would be better to take them all.
One common element of Great Earth’s games is bottomless inventory. It was not because of their kindness but their game having way too many items. Even a common enemy in the beginning drops their parts as items including claws, back claws, leathers and flesh; you could never progress the game because of backtracking to villages if there was a limit to your inventory. Of course, I, who claim to be a passionate fan of Great Earth, knew it very well, and that’s why I take the dead bodies.
I tried putting a live monster in the inventory, but that was impossible. Seeing how many things got realistic (like seeing blood in combat) I thought it could be possible. That’s a shame.
Hunting with my right foot only for 3 hours granted me a job called fighter and a skill named Low Kick. It’s inconvenient I can’t tell when I got them not having a system alert window.
[Low Kick 1
Active Skill
Cost : 6 Resource
Blow a single but powerful low kick.
You deal [105%] of your attack damage.
I was worried about it consuming ‘Resources,’ but fortunately that meant my energy.
But using it ended up causing an explosion show of rabbits, rats, or racoons. It’s under a seal for now.
How do I know that? Yes I lied about it being once, and I tried using it on each of them on new encounters. You got a problem?
Isn’t it human’s instinct to try a new skill when you get them? You are not feeling sorry for the animals, are you? Death by explosion or not, they die.
I did feel guilty at the beginning, but to monsters I am a son of bitch coming out of nowhere beating the shit out of them. So I decided to not care, because if I get shaken, that’s my loss.
This world is all about the survival of the fittest and the law of the jungle! Violence solves everything! And unfortunately, our souls are at odds brother. I need more power!
……. Anyways, how much should I hunt before I go out? The goal now is getting enough money for a meal, a room for a day, and a mug of beer.
I don’t know what the prices are. The incidents I spent money on until now are 2 silvers for the registration fee and 3 silvers at the inn. And that must be a luxury one that is much more expensive than the ordinary ones, so I can’t figure out what the prices are. Even if I knew, I don’t know how worthy the monsters I got are, so that’s no use anyways.
The bodies I have in my inventory are 13 rabbits, 12 rats, and 8 racoons. I don’t think I’ve earned enough to be satisfied with farming at the entrance of the dungeon for 3 hours, but I guess I could pay a visit up there.
I’ve been going around the dungeon entrance to light up the map, so the entrance is not that far away. It happens to be about time for lunch. Let’s go back up for now.
I came back to the entrance in the fastest way possible. It was really not that far. I was lucky enough to not encounter any monsters on the way back, so I was back in town in no time.
Come to think of it, it seemed I could only sell magic stones at the guild. What should I do? I guess I could sell them all later. Let’s see how much misc items are worth.
I opened my map and searched if there was any general store. I couldn’t find one on the street to the inn from the guild. It must be marked with an icon seeing how the inn and the guild is marked with their icon. But unlike the map, when I went out of the guild building, there was a shop that looked like a general shop right in front. I checked the map again, but it wasn’t marked on it.
What the hell?
I entered the shop looking at the map, and as soon as I entered the icon popped on.
I see. That’s how it works. I guess this is realist too.
“Welcome.”
The owner greeted me with his thick voice.
Ugh. I was cleansing my eyes with beautiful ladies. Now I’m facing a drawing-like man, my eyes feel violated. He’s got impressive fat that seems to represent an hermit’s greed. I suppose the ideal progression of being a patron of the first shop they visit that’s normal in another world stories wouldn’t come true for me. I’m leaving as soon as I find out what I need.
“Huh?! What’s up with your leg? Are you all right?”
“Of course. You can call me Guwon the Red Leg if you want.”
“No…. I don’t think I will.”
His look tells me he saw something he found disgusting.
Did you just look down on my nickname the Red Leg? You have no idea how much I cried watching that episode. But then again, it’s not a world a foolish human running a general store can understand.
“Anyways, I hunted some rabbits, large rats, and racoons to sell. How much can I get?”
“Rabbits, large rats, and Racoons? I can’t say much before I see them. Let’s see.”
“…You mean you want to see them here?”
“Hmm…? You got any problem?”
This man. His face is dirty but he seemed to take good care of his store to keep it clean. People live by their appearance, huh.
“Okay. Here.”
I took the first thing I could grab in the inventory and placed it on his counter.
Shit…. Not the one I killed with a Low Kick.
Bloodied rabbit body started to stain the counter with blood. I hesitated for a moment if I should take more out. Then the shopkeeper suddenly started to shout..
“AHHH! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!”
“Huh? You told me to take them out ‘here.’”
“Oh my goddess, what kind of a mad guy takes the whole body here? HOW the HELL did you conserve the blood too?! Are you out or your mind?!”
This dude got a dirty mouth just like his face. Your voice is enough to mess up my ears.
“Stop shouting, man. You’re gonna rip off my eardrum. Anyways, how much are you paying? Do you need to see the rest?”
“I don’t need to see it! Just get that thing away! And get the fuck out of my store! Oh… The blood…. My store….”
“I was going to leave if you tell me the price. So how much is it?”
“I’m not buying anything from a mad guy like you! Get lost!”
He left me no choice but to leave the store without getting anything.
“You don’t think I’d want to come to such a store?! I’m never ever coming back even if you beg! Just don’t regret this later!”
Damn it. I hate this but I got to look for another store. Let’s think of it positively. That store was a card I was going to discard anyways. Based on this experience, I will find a store with a beautiful owner or staff and find out what the prices are.
Finding another store was much easier than I thought. Where there are demands, there are supplies. I followed the outer wall of the donut-shaped guild building and passed several general stores.
Why didn’t I go there?
Haha. You’re asking me an obvious question. Of course, I didn’t like the owner’s face. I already decided that the owner of the store I’ll be the patent would be a sexy beautiful lady with a mysterious vibe.
And another 30 minutes passed. I looked at the map and noticed that I’ve gone halfway around the giant building.
Holy, man. Is there some kind of rule in this world that the owner of the store must be middle-aged people? How come there is no store that has a beautiful lady as their shopkeeper? Alright. With tears, I’m giving up with a sexy beautiful lady with a mysterious vibe. I’ll be satisfied with a beautiful lady. No, I just need her to be young. Just this one last time. Please. Please!
Praying with my genuine mind I look through the window in front of me with a glance. The person at the counter was a man with a great presence.
Fuck! Isn’t there a goddess in this world?
I was going to skip the store again but then noticed that on the other half of the counter, there was a young lady that I couldn’t see with a blocked view earlier.
So you were there! I had faith in you.
Of course, I had faith in you. You’ve created such a beautiful system in this world.
“Howdy.”
“Welcome.”
A father and a daughter, huh?
They both greeted me at the same time I entered the store.
I hope the man would shut up, no, it would have been perfect to get out of my sight, but that’s alright.
“Oh no. That leg… are you alright?”
“Of course, kind lady. There is no need to worry about.”
Young ladies are the best. Look how kind they are.
Trying hard not to get the man in my sight, I walked toward the girl.
To be honest, she is not an amazing girl. She’s about 5 feet tall and she’s got a somewhat cute face. The women I saw in this world, especially the adventurers gathered at the guild were very beautiful. They raised up my standard way too much. Considering that, she’s not bad.
The man next to her got a mountain-sized figure and literally looks like a bear. How interesting genes are, seeing how he’s got such a beautiful daughter.
“How can I help you?”
As I stood in front of her, she understood my intention and greeted me with a smiling face.
“I did some hunt at the dungeon, and I barely became an adventurer so I am not sure what parts I can sell at stores. What of rabbits, large rats, and racoons do you buy?”
I don’t make the same mistakes twice. I tossed a perfect question. I wouldn’t have to take out a body again.
“Hmm……. For bunnies we take meats and leathers, whiskers and incisors for rats, and claws and tails for racoons. ”
She tilted her head sideways, fell in thoughts and answered. That innocence is fairly cute.
I can’t help but to correct my assessment on her. Her face is not somewhat cute. Her face is pretty cute.
“Oh, I see. I’ll be back later.”
“Okay. See you again.”
The clerk lady sent me off with a smiling face. I didn’t even buy anything but ask a question. That is enough for me to choose this store as my go-to.
But, that brings back an important problem. I found out what I can sell, but I’ve got no way to butcher the bodies.
Damn it. They could have given me a knife as a beginner’s tool. I know you can’t do much about not having anything, but I can’t help complaining. That leaves me no choice but one.
I faced the gloomy reality that I need to use the final resort and head toward the dungeon.
It’s very troubling but if I did it in the city, I would cause weird misunderstandings and they might put me in custody. I, with my both hands, will butcher the bodies myself. I’m already unpleasant with my right leg. Now I have to wet my hands with blood. That’s upsetting.
When my hands get bloody, Guwon the Red Leg wouldn’t be a fitting name. What nickname should I use then?
