Sultan’s Love - SS 6 {END}
After Story 6
Kainer usually did it with consideration for Saye, but sometimes there were rough nights. And after spending the night like that, Saye would always be ill for several days.
It was the same this time. It was Kainer who took care of her, who had been ill for three days. His face was full of worry and kindness.
“It’s just a fever.”
“I know.”
He grinned as he handed over the messy, tangled hair. Her gray eyes captured Kainer with a sense of calmness.
“I feel like the afterglow of last night is still in me.”
“I think you have a difficult request, seeing that you choose only good words to listen to.”
After the excruciating pleasure, a fever rose. Perhaps the pleasures of that night still had not left her body.
Saye gently took Kainer’s hand, which was stroking her forehead. Eyes of blind confidence, believing that he will surely grant her request.
“If Lord Kainer doesn’t do that, everyone will be uneasy.”
Anxiety eventually breeds suspicion and grows into a heart that harms each other. The child Enin was caring for from the other side of the room could be heard. He whined and cried, and it was all lovely and precious. It hadn’t been long since she’s known Mirga, but she can imagine how Mirga felt. Saye will also do anything to protect her child.
“Lord Kainer.”
“…Sometimes Miss Saye has a talent for noticing what I’m trying to do and stopping it. I don’t need to know if you’re doing it knowingly or knowingly.”
He said vaguely.
It was definitely Kainer who accepted Mirga, who had nowhere to go. In fact, he allowed Mirga to travel to the Empire to clean up the mess that should have been done three years ago. She’s useless, so he doesn’t need to put up with her anymore. Everyone involved had been purged, so he had nothing to do with Mirga either.
But if he did that, Saye would be very heartbroken.
He didn’t want to hurt Saye. Just as he had eyes of protection and surveillance attached to Saye, he should have attached eyes to Mirga as well.
What could be easier than controlling Mirga, who had no influence or anything? If she did even one act of nonsense, he would just punish her right away. He wondered if Mirga would do such a foolish thing to blow her last chance with her own hands.
Saye was anxious as much as she loved her child.
He’s not unaware of her anxiety. But that’s the weight of the throne, so there’s nothing Kainer couldn’t do for her. Thinking that maybe she could learn a cruel disposition or tactics from Mirga, Kainer nodded his head.
“I’ll do what Miss Saye wants me to do.”
“Thank you Lord Kainer.”
Saye smiled with a feverish face.
“But you should avoid meeting them too often.”
The words he had said in the bed, the vague words in her memory, came to mind, and Saye quickly nodded her head.
◇ ◆ ◇
It had been a week since that night that Saye visited Mirga. Mirga said she was comfortable with staying in the old harem where she grew up as a child. There was no one other than those in charge, and only Mirga and Lai used the large space.
“Greetings, Haseki.”
Mirga was startled by Saye’s sudden visit, but she only raised her eyebrows slightly. Saye smiled softly to Lai, whom she had not seen in a long time, and sat down at the table.
“Is there any food that the child in the womb wants to eat?”
“It’s eating everything well.”
That night, Lai, who went to serve the Sultan, returned to her residence very quickly, and since then she had not said anything to Mirga. But if she wanted to save her life, he only advised that it would be better to leave this place and go to a place where no one could find her.
“What a relief. I had severe morning sickness, so I couldn’t eat well.”
From that day on, Saye did not seek Lai because she was not feeling well, and she did not even receive a message from Kainer.
During this week, when no one was looking for her, Mirga had a hellish time. The feeling that Kainer would not want to keep her alive, when she was no longer useful, grew stronger and stronger, and she looked for a place to escape.
But her husband’s concubines with grown sons would turn over everything around in search of her. No matter where they hid, they would eventually be discovered and face a terrible end. For now, there was no place safer than the Imperial Palace of the Empire, so Mirga could not move easily.
“Miss Mirga, Miss Lai.”
“Please speak, Haseki.”
“You are welcome to stay here.”
The worry on Mirga’s face disappeared when Saye suddenly said that. She bit her mouth tightly when her anxiousness was caught.
“This is also Miss Mirga’s home. The Sultan said that any threat to Miss Mirga’s life would be considered a threat to the Empire.”
“It can’t be.”
Kainer couldn’t have been the one who reluctantly saved her life. Mirga unknowingly put her hand on her round belly and held it.
“It doesn’t matter if the child is a son or a daughter. Stay as long as Miss Mirga wants to stay. We will do our best to protect you.”
“Why? Did you not hear properly? No way. Enin is like a scorpion, and she would have put poison on her lips, so she must have said something like this and that? I conspired with Kainer’s half-sister and my brother to kill him. He saved my life only out of necessity, but now there is no reason to do so, he keeps me alive? Kainer is not this foolish man.”
So Mirga put Lai, who resembled Saye, ahead. She was that desperate. She was anxious and worried because she had to risk her life and the life of her child for the time being with only one hope.
“That’s why you came. To save the child.”
Even though she knew she was going to die, she had no choice but to come here, she said in a quiet tone to Saye.
“…If it’s a daughter… If I have a daughter…”
“As a member of the imperial family, your child will grow up with my son.”
“I don’t care what it is. I did it to live, so there’s no excuse. But then, Haseki will take care of this child.”
She had nothing to give. However, for the sake of the existence of the child, the mother could be shameless. Whether the child is a boy or a girl, in order to save their life, she could put her neck in the jaws of a fearsome beast as many times as possible.
“For the child, Mirga must be with them. I would never have imagined that I would be absent from my child’s life.”
Saye didn’t blame her, even though she knew Mirga had planned to put Lai into Kainer’s arms. Rather, she realized that Mirga had no choice but to do so, and that she felt Mirga’s desperate heart. At the realization that belatedly hit her head, Mirga voluntarily bowed her heavy body to her knees.
Saye, startled, got up from her seat, and she tried to get Mirga up.
“…I will definitely repay the grace that saved me and my child. If I do not pay it, my child will pay it.”
“There is no grace. I haven’t done anything.”
She was the woman who orchestrated getting Lai into the Emperor’s bedroom. She ridiculed Saye for being a foolish girl, but the only one stupid and unbelievable was herself.
“Only Haseki can change the heart of Lord Kainer, the Sultan.”
“There was always anxiety in Miss Lai’s words. Miss Mirga and Miss Lai must have felt the same anxiety.”
What she said made Mirga ecstatic, but her heart ached for the content and the emotions it contained.
Not questioning Kainer’s heart, Saye was able to bolster her courage. Her deep belief in him shone at this moment. Kainer still thought of her as a soft person, but her softness moved the heart of the strong Emperor, so could she really only be called soft?
“Miss Lai is a gift from Mirga to me. It is up to me to decide what to do with the present. I’m going to set Miss Lai free. You can stay here and do whatever you want.”
Her kindness did not stop at Mirga. Saye was kind to Lai as always. Saye, looking back at Lai, wasn’t the kind of person to talk nonsense.
“I….”
“Of course, even if you say you stay here, you won’t be able to see me every day like last time.”
Considering Kainer’s jealousy, Lai nodded her head.
“I left my hometown anyway. To be honest, I’m tired of fighting now, and I don’t even want to fight.”
It was even more so since the opponent of the quarrel was the emperor.
“I think it would be good to stay as a guest here as long as you want to be. And…”
Lai remembered Mirga’s pale face, who had come to her bedroom and told her to go to the Empire with her. Until the very day before, Mirga came to Lai to ask and save her child, perhaps not having an easy way to reach out to someone who was supposed to be trying to kill her.
Not wanting to lose her husband and become a wanderer again, Lai recklessly grabbed Mirga’s outstretched hand.
“I’m also curious about Mirga’s child. She said she would never forget my help if it was a son, so I will be by her side until he is born.”
She spoke in the arrogant tone that Lai used when she lived in the harem. Mirga burst out laughing out of absurdity when she heard the way Lai was deliberately arrogant and demeaning others to protect herself.
But when Lai said she would stay here, Mirga’s chest felt full. In an urgent situation of life and death, they supported each other and came to the empire. It cannot be denied that Lai depended on Mirga, and Mirga depended on Lai, even for a brief moment. Therefore, even the fear of childbirth looked endurable if Lai was by her side.
“If there is a good person going to and from the palace, will Lady Saye help me as a matchmaker?”
“Is there anyone you like?”
“Lai!”
When Lai, who had previously promised to seduce the Emperor, naturally talked about another man, Mirga called out her name. However, Lai had no intention of hiding her true colors any longer.
“A man named Hassan who serves His Majesty. He didn’t even budge when he saw my naked body. Was he castrated?”
Saye blinked her eyes. Of all the people she knew, there was only one Hassan who served His Majesty.
“No… Perhaps not?”
“How would you know that, Miss Saye?”
A quiet but cold voice, divided the women’s space.
Even if something was wrong, it would be very wrong. Lai, who raised the question, hurriedly retreated to one side.
“Lord Kainer.”
“Answer me. How would you know if Hassan was castrated or not?”
Hassan, who usually would not blink even if something unusual happened, showed an anxious look behind Kainer. If Saye made a mistake here, there would be a bloody wind blowing right here, and Hassan imagined himself in the middle of the bloody wind for the first time since serving the emperor.
Everyone looked at Saye’s lips.
“I saw Sir Hassan growing a beard last time. Those who are castrated don’t grow beards.”
“Aahh.”
As if he was immediately convinced, Kainer’s mood was relieved at once.
The bloody wind that almost blew in evaded the Imperial Palace due to this explanation.
While everyone was sweeping their hearts, the flower smiled brightly. Then the Sultan smiled brightly.
As always in the Sultan’s garden, there was only one flower. The Sultan and everyone present who was looking at the flower had the same thought.
