Obey Me - Chapter 14
Gladios Vermont (2)
Gladios Vermont was a social issue.
He was six years older than Kyrie and had a temperament to show off his righteousness and boldness at every moment of his everyday life, perhaps because he read the biography of the hero too deeply as a child.
That night, what awakened Kyrie was the loud singing of the hero’s biography enthusiast.
「“This dreamy night, my little bird, please tweet for those who can’t sleep!”」
Kyrie rubbed her eyes and tried to come to her senses at the outspoken shout.
“What……? MaryAnne, outside…”
“I’ll go, my lady…!”
“It’s Rimo…… Oh, MaryAnne was resting from a nervous breakdown…..”
After accompanying Nathaniel, Rimo was attached to Kyrie instead of MaryAnne, who feared him enough to convulse.
As expected, Rimo, who woke up, approached with a yawn.
“I’ll open the window, my lady.”
When the window was opened, the voice of the criminal who woke her up was more clearly heard. He had such a good voice, that Kyrie could even tell at which beat he was breathing.
「 It’s a low night until I see you. If I see you in a dream, night is always night!」
“Ah. Please.”
Kyrie turned her head and raised her upper body. Rimo quickly covered her who was in negligee with a shawl.
“The Young Lord, Gladios Vermont, my lady.”
“Yes. I can tell just by hearing that boring song.”
Kyrie gritted her teeth.
‘Is it finally my turn?’
Gladios was a man with a habit of rousing people’s nerves by singing love songs whenever he was interested in a lady.
Until now, Kyrie was able to avoid the courtship because she was the fiancée of the Crown Prince, but now that her position disappeared, there was no justification to stop him.
‘Do you know what time it is now?’
Kyrie nervously stretched her head out the window. She could see the silhouette of the Great Sword, carved with jewels, visible on the broad chest and small waist body.
(T/N: If you have seen the Hugo in season 2 of Lucia then that’s the body shape of Gladios. Iceprince I so wanna tag you here rn)
“What are you doing there, Gladios?”
“Oh, Kyrie, woman with a beautiful name! She finally came!”
Gladios cried from under the window of the guest room on the highest floor.
“I was waiting for you to come out!”
“So I’m here to tell you when to sleep.” (T/N: If it were me I would have thrown a flower pot at his head. People who disturb sleep should be punished.)
“Oh, Kyrie, Kyrie! You’re still like a cold winter goddess! But I can also see the glorious hope blazing in that ice field!”
“That hope shines a little more during the day. It’s time to go to bed, Gladios.”
“Don’t say that, my cute little moonbird. There are not many days left for us to meet like this! How can I not lament that fate is in the way between us!
Kyrie had never done anything that would attach her to him. If that’s really her fate, it would be better to stick her nose into the water and die right away.
Kyrie was relieved that her expression could not be seen properly because of the long distance, and she crumbled her expression to her heart’s content.
“It is better to talk about that fate tomorrow.”
“Kyrie!”
Gladios called her with his passionate voice.
“I heard a funny story from my father! I want an answer to that!”
“What are you talking about?”
“You… you are traveling with a man who I don’t know, who is unclear!”
There was certainly nothing wrong, but it was clear that there was a great deal of misunderstanding in the background narrative. He must have mistaken for a romance-seeking wall, or something.
(T/N: The way Marquis narrated the story to his son was like Kyrie was interested in some lonely man and gave him shelter coz of his looks. In short sugar mommy)
“Whatever it is, I’d rather talk to you tomorrow, Mr. Gladios.”
After saying that, Kyrie realized that Gladios was holding something.
‘Is that a liquor bottle? Oh My God.’
This country would tend to over-package rudeness as fresh youth.
(T/N: It was rude to talk to a young lady while you are drunk. So kyrie meant is all the rudeness could be seen in the youth of this generation)
“Kyrie, Kyrie! Don’t abandon me!”
Gladios seemed unlikely to retreat until his drunkenness turned into sleepiness. But if the window was closed, that hero would not hesitate to wrap up the climbing walls with romance.
Kyrie continued to think with a sleepy head.
‘There is obviously nothing good about being rejected by Vermont, one of the seven major families. Now that I had my engagement with the Crown Prince broken off, Gladios is certainly a good marriage……’
Kyrie, who thought about it that much, swept her hair.
Even though she promised to live as she pleased, she still couldn’t think beyond her family. She was angry as Cesar who wrote such a letter to Marquis Vermont without permission and caused this mess.
(T/N: Cesar is her father. Yes, she is saying his name directly.)
‘You do whatever you want. I will, too.
Kyrie eventually shouted angrily.
“That’s right. I’m on a trip with someone other than Gladios, so would you please not disturb me?
Gladios stopped.
“Disturbance…….?”
“What if it’s not disturbance!”
“Now… are you all done now!”
Kyrie saw him pull his sword from a distance. He must have been crazy.
“I didn’t miss you smiling at me even during your engagement to the Crown Prince! But now you’re going to step back!”
“I was just being polite to the Young Lord, Marquis of Vermont.”
“I didn’t know you’d be doing this! It’s no wonder the Crown Prince broke off his engagement. How very disappointing!”
Kyrie suppressed the desire to spit.
He didn’t say it outright, but it seemed like she could hear the words, ‘That’s why Rubina Cassner took your fiance away.’
“Don’t insult me by engaging in irrelevant things.”
“Oh, Kyrie, Kyrie! I can save you! I’m not such an unidentified local aristocrat! I heard he didn’t wear a sword? I’m sure he’s a man who cannot protect his woman! What’s so good about him!”
(T/N: He is talking about Nathaniel)
“Ha! What am I going to do? He has something that you don’t have.”
“What is it that I don’t have! I’m the Marquis of Vermont! This Gladios Vermont has everything!”
Kyrie laughed.
“The face.”
Gladios hardened.
“What…… what?”
“Shall I tell you again? You don’t have the face, the face. Your face is too expressive, bothers people’s eyes and shows that you cannot take responsibility.”
(T/N: Destruction 100)
“Me, if it’s me!”
(T/N: Talking gibberish, still not accepting the truth)
“You’re thinking it’s okay? Excuse me, but if you ask one hundred men passing by, they’ll say it’s okay if all one hundred of them are sleeping. So I would like you to think how low the word ‘okay’ means.”
(T/N: she says even if she stops one hundred men and ask them, will they wake up anyone while they are sleeping will they be okay? So think how low your common sense is)
“Huh….ha….?”
“I have high standards. Please don’t touch my feet unless you’re going to be reborn with a new face.”
Finally, the damn serenade stopped.
Though many thoughts passed by, Kyrie decided to defer this troublesome child to tomorrow’s self or to Count Buchanan, who was far away.
As soon as she was about to close the window, the shadow of a person caught Kyrie’s eyes.
That person was Nathaniel. He was standing on the terrace of the first floor, which was not seen by Gladios, and was smiling as if he was having fun.
(T/N: He was literally laughing. BUT DON’T FALL FOR THIS CUTE SCENE COZ THIS IS A DARK NOVEL!)
‘Oh my god! Did you hear everything?’
Kyrie quickly closed the window out of shame.
‘Damn Gladios! Damn heroism!’
She quickly laid down on the bed to shake off the troublesome riddle.
T/N rant:
Have been lately sleeping a lot but my brother is literally making my life hell by trying to tell the spoilers of this novel (yes he read this novel)
Is this Marquis mad or what? Why didn’t he notice the barbaric and the madness in Nathaniel?
Tbh I didn’t wanted to name two chapters after this Gladios but I had to coz it is what it is… sigh anyways a small gift for the love shown by u all
Nathaniel.
‘The End’
