No. 1 Son-in-Law - Chapter 38
Shea Tang didn’t expect to see Wind Chen here. She still remembered him.
“Why are you here? Your wounds are all healed up already?” Shea Tang was really shocked.
“All healed,” replied Wind Chen with a smile.
“Who are you?”
Charles Yang glared at Wind Chen.
“I’m her man. You, apologize to my woman right now.”
Wind Chen casually pulled his arm around Shea Tang’s slim waist.
Shea Tang wasn’t very tall, but she was slim and her body’s proportions were excellent.
When Wind Chen suddenly put an arm around her waist, she felt as though she had been electrocuted. She was so nervous that she didn’t know what to do, but she didn’t try to struggle free either.
She knew that Wind Chen was trying to help her, but she got a little worried when she heard what Wind Chen said to Charles Yang.
Charles Yang’s father was the hospital director, so he was both filthy rich and had a powerful background. Ordinary people couldn’t afford to offend such a man.
“I was wondering which amazing fellow could have appeared. You’re dressed head to toe in dollar store clothing, and you hope to stand up for Shea? Are you still dreaming or something?”
Charles Yang spat some saliva out disdainfully.
“Wind Chen, forget it. Don’t bother arguing with such people,” whispered Shea Tang.
“Don’t be scared. I’m going to make sure this fellow understands what ruthlessness means.”
Wind Chen smiled.
“Go ahead and come at me. I’ve seen idiots like you who pretend to be a big shot despite not having any money. I’m really not trying to insult you, but I highly doubt you’re even able to afford one of my car wheels.” Charles Yang patted his luxury car arrogantly.
“Whether I can afford any of your car’s parts is not important now. I think your car is only of average quality.”
Wind Chen landed a palm on the hood of the Maserati. He seemed to have placed that hand down very gently, but it made the hood sink in instantly.
“What the f*ck?”
Charles Yang’s eyes widened.
Shea Tang was shocked as well.
But Wind Chen wasn’t done yet. He pulled the dented hood right off the car and flung it to the ground. Then, he forcibly pulled the engine out with ease and stepped on it.
There was a loud bam.
The engine instantly turned into a flat metal cookie.
Charles Yang was scared out of his wits. Was this guy even human?
“See? I told you the quality of your car isn’t great.”
Wind Chen dusted his palms off.
Thud.
Charles Yang fell to his knees.
“Big Brother, I was wrong! Please be magnanimous and spare me!”
Charles Yang couldn’t stop shivering.
Wind Chen was like a god to him now, and there was no way he could win Wind Chen.
“Apologize to her.”
Wind Chen pointed at Shea Tang.
Charles Yang nodded profusely and started apologizing to Shea Tang desperately.
“Are you still going to fire her?” asked Wind Chen.
“Oh, no, no, I wouldn’t dare to.” Charles Yang quickly shook his head.
“If I hear about you bullying her again, then the next time I’ll be stepping on is your head. Get what I mean?”
“Yes, yes, I get it. Bro, don’t worry, I won’t dare to do such a thing again.” Charles Yang could feel his heart pounding wildly in fear.
He had been born into privilege and had seen many strange and crazy things, but he had never met anyone as violent and terrifying as Wind Chen.
Shea Tang watched how the previously arrogant Charles Yang had been taught a good lesson, and her heart palpitated. There was also a strange sparkle in her pretty eyes as she gazed at Wind Chen.
“Which bus are you taking?” Wind Chen asked Shea Tang.
“Number…number 3,” replied Shea Tang.
“Aren’t you boarding the bus then?” Wind Chen pointed to the public bus that had just arrived at the bus stop.
“Oh…oh…”
Shea Tang blushed, then boarded the bus with a hesitant look on her face.
“Wait.”
Wind Chen suddenly followed her up the bus and stood in the doorway so that the driver couldn’t close the door.
The driver frowned and said emotionlessly, “If you’re taking the bus, get in quickly. Otherwise, get off the bus. Don’t hold up everyone else.”
“Sir, you shouldn’t drive anymore. It’s dangerous.”
Wind Chen had a very solemn look on his face.
“What nonsense are you spouting? Shoo! Get off the bus!”
The driver began to look irritated.
All the other passengers in the bus were also frowning at Wind Chen.
“My friend, we’re all in a hurry, so stop making trouble here.”
“That’s right. Hurry up and get off the bus.”
Several passengers started calling out to Wind Chen.
But Wind Chen didn’t intend to get off the bus at all. He continued in a serious voice, “Your body is really not doing well, so it’s better that you get to a hospital first. If you continue to drive, you’ll get into an accident in no more than five minutes.”
“Are you getting off the bus or not?” The driver’s expression was icy, and he didn’t care about what Wind Chen was saying at all.
Wind Chen took a deep breath, took a few steps in to stand next to Shea Tang, and said, “Go ahead and drive then.”
“What a nutcase.”
After the bus driver made that remark, he shut the doors and started driving.
Shea Tang stood next to Wind Chen, and her large eyes would look up at him from time to time.
But whenever he looked back at her, she would blush and look away like a frightened little bunny.
She thought that Wind Chen was just finding an excuse to send her to work.
Time passed, and almost five minutes had gone by.
Just then, the bus stopped at a red light. It was going to take another 50 seconds to change.
“Shea, call the ambulance now,” said Wind Chen sternly.
“What?” Shea Tang was caught by surprise.
Wind Chen swiftly walked to the driver instead.
The driver’s breathing had suddenly quickened, his chest kept heaving, and his eyes were bloodshot.
Many of the passengers witnessed this happening.
“What’s wrong with the driver?”
“Is he suddenly having a heart attack?”
“How did this happen?”
The passengers began to panic.
Shea Tang suddenly remembered what Wind Chen said before boarding the bus. She checked the time. It was exactly five minutes since then.
There was no time to think about this now. She quickly called for an ambulance.
Wind Chen quickly turned off the bus engine and chided the bus driver sternly, “You have cardiac disease. I told you earlier not to keep driving, but you refused to believe me.”
“Br-bro…I…I…”
The driver couldn’t even finish one sentence when his body suddenly started convulsing violently, and his eyes rolled upwards. He didn’t look like he was going to make it.
The passengers had grim and worried faces. After living in a modern city all these years, most of them could tell that this driver was going to collapse and die from a heart attack.
Wind Chen’s expression grew serious when he saw this.
He leaned over decisively and pressed one finger to the driver’s chest.
A small amount of spirit energy that wasn’t visible to the passengers quietly entered the driver’s body to protect the driver’s heart.
After that, Wind Chen put the driver’s seat down so that the driver could lie flat on his back, before proceeding to hit the driver at various parts of his body.
Two minutes later, the driver stopped convulsing. Color returned to his face, and his breathing became even as his eyes remained shut. He looked like he was asleep.
“Phew, that was close.”
Wind Chen breathed a long sigh of relief.
“How is he?” Shea Tang asked anxiously.
“His condition is stable. It shouldn’t be a problem,” replied Wind Chen with a smile.
“You’re really amazing,” said Shea Tang sincerely as she stared at him with admiration in her eyes.
Wind Chen had been able to tell that the driver was about to have a heart attack before boarding the bus, and he even saved the driver while he was clearly on the brink of dying. There was probably nobody else in all of Chanyang who was capable of something like that.
The passengers were relieved, but they were also still feeling fearful when they thought about the danger they were in just moments ago.
“I’m so glad this young man did something about it. Otherwise, the consequences would be too frightening to even imagine,” said an old lady earnestly.
“If this young man hadn’t boarded the bus and the driver didn’t get a heart attack at a red light, I really don’t know what might have happened.”
“He’s saved the entire bus of people.”
“Oppa, you’re really handsome!” said a young and pretty girl as she smiled sweetly after going through that harrowing experience. She took her phone out to take a photo of Wind Chen, then asked him for his number.
Wind Chen didn’t want to give her his number, but he wasn’t sure how to say no to her.
Just when he was put in a spot, Shea Tang quickly realized what Wind Chen was thinking about and said, “I’m sorry, my boyfriend doesn’t usually exchange numbers with girls he doesn’t know.”
