It was only on his ride home did Lin Yu examine the EXP points he obtained today.
The livestream statistics were not as easy to calculate as a normal upload, and the total EXP points he gained were not as much as he expected. However, upgrading it would only be a day or two away.
The only thing was that he felt slightly conflicted to upgrade it. Since he was quite satisfied with the current Academic Genius System, he was unsure if the software would change after an upgrade. Besides, he had no money to afford a smartphone now and had already become used to the smart glasses interface. If he was to switch back to a smartphone, he would be slightly reluctant to do so.
From the sole perspective of profit, that pair of smart glasses were slightly higher-tech and also a perfect technological product. If they could be mass-produced, it would reap him huge piles of money.
“Anything that should be upgraded will be. Anything else can be delayed but not the Academic Genius System… Forget it, I’ll stop thinking about that for now.”
After struggling metaphorical like the painful struggle of a fish in a bear’s paw for a long while, he relapsed back to his old ways of temporarily ignoring his problem. He took out his laptop and sent the Academic Genius System’s compressed file onto his cloud storage.
Although the total EXP points he gained was not too much, the results it showed exceeded his expectations. After the livestream ended, plenty of his followers texted him to request for his system.
The Academic Genius System version in his smart glasses would obviously not be given to them since even if he did, it would be ineffective in others’ hands. However, giving them the prototype version was not a problem.
Besides, the prototype version was just a program he had written, and its codes were extremely basic. It was unsure if the program was buggy or not, so it would not be an issue to make a copy of it for someone else and could be a gift to his followers.
While he made the copies, he took the liberty to test out his Superhuman Ability.
The truth was he had actually been bothered by a question in his head for a while now about whether he would also be able to upgrade the copied version of an upgraded product. The only problem was that it was troublesome to make his Charge Blade from before. Hence, he kept the question to himself.
However, the Academic Genius System did not have this issue. It was only a simple software and the code was still there. As such, making copies of a download packet would be as simple as a single mouse click.
Therefore, he was quickly able to get the answer he desperately wanted.
The answer was: absolutely!
Using the original code to republish an app would still be allowed for upgrades. The only difference was that EXP points were not shared amongst the two versions. The total EXP points for the copy was zero so a recollection of EXP points would be required for an upgrade.
This was surprisingly good news for him, which calmed all of his concerns. He would not need to worry about the smart glasses disappearing after an upgrade since the copies were able to as well. Although using something his followers were familiar with to recollect another wave of EXP points would be tricky, 500 EXP points would not be a problem.
After sending the software packet up into the cloud storage and posting a statement on B site with a link and password, he stayed up till late at night, playing a video game before going to bed.
…
After the following week’s worth of time, Lin Yu’s life became even more orderly.
Since the library’s ambiance and his livestreams improved the quality and standards of his studies, it was obvious he would not let go of such an opportunity. Hence, whenever he was at school, he would either go to class or livestream himself reading.
This change was not only felt by his viewers, but even his teachers and classmates felt he had recently changed in behavior.
Even the librarian was slowly getting used to him dropping by and considered him one of the ‘hardworking’ students. Whenever he noticed Lin Yu dropping by, he no longer made any remarks on talking loudly or other things. Instead, he would only take a quick glance at him before returning to whatever novel he was reading.
He had also ran into Zhao Xiaolu a couple of times during this period. Although their interactions were little, they had also grown closer. At the very least, they could be considered friends and would greet each other when they ran into each other in public.
Of course, the library was not the only place he invested all of his time during this week’s worth of time. Whenever he returned home or there was a holiday, he would spend time disassembling and investigating his Piston Exo Gauntlets and was able to apply his knowledge to practical use while he studied. Now, not only was his knowledge improving at a drastic rate, but he was also able to understand almost every part in making the piston gauntlets.
The basic foundation of the piston gauntlets was not complicated. It was only a simple piston cylinder. The inside contained a basic EMG sensor, a tiny motor, an alternator, and some other electronics. The EMG sensor was used to capture and track the arm movements. After that, the tiny motor and a steel wire reel were used to complete the grabbing motion. The alternator was completed or disconnected a circuit to control the compressed air that was sent into the piston cylinder, which would extend or contract the piston rods.
The main core parts of the piston gauntlets were these. It would be impossible for him if he had to make all these parts from nothing. However, any type of technology-related product development relied heavily on resource integration, just like a cell phone manufacturer. Not many companies would manufacture its own parts, so they would rely on specific parts made by other companies and only the manufacturer would be responsible for design and assembly.
The Piston Gauntlets were exactly like that. All other parts except for the EMG sensor were commonly available. Hence, all he had to do was study the theory of movement mechanics so he could possibly be able to make a pirated version of his gauntlets. At most, the functionality would be slightly inferior to the original.
After the results of his studies were discussed, he moved onto his EXP points collection.
Since he was completely addicted to studying after slightly more than a week, he never made any new videos. Hence, his main stream of EXP points was from the livestream of his Academic Genius System.
Since there was no stable amount of EXP points as reference, he was unable to make an estimate statistic for the amount of EXP points made. However, he felt an obvious, gradual decline in EXP points after each livestream. It was possible that the viewers were getting bored since they would not be interested in it after getting used to seeing the same thing for so long.
Besides, the same group of people who tuned into his boring livestream every day would eventually grow familiar with the existing functionality of the Academic Genius System. Unless he was able to achieve some extremely shocking results with the Academic Genius System, it would be very difficult for him to keep gaining EXP points with the same mundane tasks everyday.
Moreover, the EXP points research was an invisible and formless thing. He was unsure if he would be limited in gaining EXP points after repeating the same thing over and over again for a certain period of time.

Description: A pair of realistic glasses equipped with learning programs.
Evaluation: Only a child would require a parent’s constant monitoring. An adult had to endure the brutal abuse of society to learn what hard work and self-improvement is.
___
This was the only thing he could see.
The Academic Genius System had once again been upgraded to the next level. The only thing he was uncertain of was the uncertainty of whether they would be happy or disappointed if the pair of smart glasses underwent any changes or not. Even the item description had removed the word ‘aid’ from it.
However, it was only after he tried on the upgraded version that he realized how much better removing ‘aid’ in the description was.
