- Chapter 231 - You Can Go With Her
“A snatch? Why did a snatch suddenly show up? It was impossible…” Fu Ruoqing vexedly defended herself, but she caught Xiao Ye’s displeased eyes.
“I’ve made my decision.” Xiao Ye glanced at Fu Ruoqing with dissatisfaction, “And I will make it known to the public tomorrow. Jing Lang, you’re supposed to find out the snatch and catch him. Do punish him with due severity since this rampant thief dared to despise the law in the Imperial Capital of Dong Qing country. He can’t be let off easily.
“Yes, Your Majesty.” Jing Lang, who stood at the door armed, bowed down and responded.
“Well, you can take her away.” Xiao Ye waved his hand and said, “I didn’t expect that you could make friends with Jing Yue after you met the eldest princess.”
“Your Majesty, I met her in a unique restaurant in the Imperial City and I promise that even you wouldn’t forget the food there if you come to have a try.” Jing Lang smiled gently, lowering his body.
“Oh? As you said, it’s just a restaurant. In my Palace, there are no shortage of excellent imperial cooks. Even the most sumptuous feast is a piece of cake for them, which is not a small restaurant can compare.” Indifferently, Xiao Ye shook his hand and said, “Go now.”
“Thanks. Your Majesty.” Jing Lang bowed down and then walked to Jing Yue who knelt on the ground, without saying anything more.
“You can stand up now.” Throwing his eyes on Jing Yue kneeling on the ground, Xiao Ye opened his mouth and ordered.
“Thanks, Your Majesty.” With a pale face, Jing Yue tried to stand up, but her legs became stiff since she had knelt for a long time. Jing Lang’s eyes flashed lightly and then he walked forward to hold her up. Under Jing Lang’s help, Jing Yue finally stood up and suddenly, she cried out.
“Are you okay?” Jing Lang asked. Meanwhile, her calling caught Xiao Ye and Fu Ruoqing’s eyes. Fu Ruoqing squeezed the hanky tightly, worried that Jing Yue would say something inopportune.
“Nothing. I just sprained my ankle.” Jing Yue lowered her head and said.
“How did you sprain your ankle…?” Xiao Ye frowned, trying to ask her more but he was interrupted by Jing Yue. “Don’t worry, Your Majesty. I’m fine, but I may need to ask General Jing Lang to do me a favour and assist me on my side.” With a smile, Jing Yue said.
“That’s okay.” Xiao Ye waved his hand and didn’t think much. Seeing them leaving, Fu Rongqing also came into a gentle relief.
Jing Yue trembled and leaned on Jing Lang to move forward. Her abnormal behaviour made Jing Lang feel a bit strange. Noticing Jing Yue’s shaking hand, Jing Lang was going to ask but Jing Yue stopped him in a low voice.
Silently, they headed to the gate where a carriage had been arranged for her because of Jing Yue just said her feet were twisted. Jing Yue behaved normally as if she really sprained the ankle, at least no one found anything wrong by far.
Through the opened curtain of the carriage before the gate, Jing Yue saw a person sitting inside, the Prime Minister, Jing Zhan.
And Xing Er stood near the carriage, calling respectfully, “Your Highness.”
Jing Yue now understood why Jing Zhan would suddenly appear. It must be Xing Er who turned to him.
“Go back to Mansion.” After she finally walked to the back of the carriage, Jing Yue’s legs couldn’t help but tremble ceaselessly. All the vigilance she had pretended was taken off. She was so exhausted that she closed her eyes and fell. Immediately, Jing Lang held her tightly, with panic in his eyes.
