Arena - Chapter 191
Arena Chapter 191. The Battle of Laman (1)
Laman City, Aman Empire.
This Amani city was bordering the northern border of the Arend Kingdom, and there were small scuffles between the two sides all the time, even before the war began.
Thanks to that, this city became something akin to a fortress with more soldiers than civilians. The absolute majority of the civilians were also just families of the soldiers.
As this city possessed fine barracks and walls for defense, it was natural that this was chosen as the basecamp for the conquest.
Nearly 200,000 Amani soldiers were constantly residing here, and they were prepared to invade the Arend lands upon immediate orders.
However, recently, there was a setback in their preparations.
They could only fight a proper battle if and once enough food arrived to feed the whole camp, but the supply could not meet the demand.
As they weren’t given supplies in time, the soldiers began to voice their dissatisfaction as they were skipping one, or even two meals a day.
At this rate, their morale would collapse.
Meanwhile, a single satellite in space was video recording the entire situation from above.
***
Dana analyzed the distribution of the soldiers throughout Laman City through the satellite.
While he was doing that, Odin entered his secret room, which was at the end of the corridor.
“How is it going?”
“Mr. Kim is retreating safely.”
“What are you looking at now?”
“The situation in Laman City.”
Only then did Odin have a look at the map that Dana had drawn.
It contained a detailed layout of the distribution of soldiers.
It was as though he prepared this in order for the allies to strike first.
“What do you mean by this?”
“We have all of the examinees on our side. The Aman Imperial Army does not have the dark magicians and Lee Chang-wee’s group as they haven’t arrived yet.”
“You mean we should take this opportunity to attack first.”
“Indeed.”
Dana nodded and continued.
“Why don’t we have Mr. Kim hold them in place through long-range sniping, and have us attack Laman City first during the meantime?”
“So you mean to utilize all the examinees here.”
“Yes. We’ll let the enemies get distracted with the Arend Royal Army, and put the examinees in there secretly. We have a lot of examinees other than the 33 that are participating in the final battle, so this is a feasible plan.”
Odin fell into contemplation when he heard those words.
Yes, this was definitely a possible plan. After all, they were fully aware of the inner workings of the defenses of Laman City.
If the nimble and strong examinees utilized this advantage, they should be able to deal a serious strike.”
The problem was that….
“It’s too burdening for Mr. Kim.”
“I guess that’s the case, but he can shoot from more than 5 kilometers away. On top of that, elementalism is undetectable by dark magic.”
“Hmmm.”
Odin was also aware of the destructive power Kim Hyunho’s sniper rifle was capable of producing.
However, that didn’t mean that he was able to safely gain time against the dark magicians and Lee Chang-wee’s group single-handedly.
‘I think he’s definitely capable of it, but he will be taking a big risk.’
He thought about it for a moment.
However, he then came to a conviction.
‘Everyone is taking risks. This cannot be helped.’
“Very well. I shall talk to His Majesty about it. He’ll probably allow it. My opinions work well on him after all.”
Just as Odin guaranteed, King Alsefon III started discussing attacking Laman City with the other nobles.
The discussion was about whether or not to proactively attack at this time when the enemy supply chain was in a mess.
However, the real plan was to have the examinees infiltrate the city and cause massive damage.
Meanwhile, Dana relayed this plan to Kim Hyunho who was still in the Aman Empire.
***
“I like it.”
-Will you be okay?
“Yes. I’ll do it. I think it’s a good plan.”
-Thanks.
After having a conversation with Dana, I spoke with Jihye.
“You heard that?”
“I did.”
“I’ll first call Secondborn so go back to camp first. I’ll remain behind and deal with those pesky…….”
“I don’t want to.”
“You don’t want to?”
I asked back in shock.
She was surprisingly firm in her opinion about this.
“I will remain behind and protect you.”
“I appreciate your feelings, but there’s nothing for you to do here. I’ll be harassing them from long range.”
“The dark magicians are there and we don’t know what method they will use to attack you. It will be safer for me to be with you just in case you get attacked.”
“It’s also easier for me to move around by myself.”
“Then call out Secondborn. I’ll guard you from a distance.”
Damn, she only said what was right.
She simply didn’t want to lose out on this. So this was what my sister felt like when she was talking to her.
“You’ll get mistreated if you keep defying your husband like that.”
“You are not my husband yet though?”
“Huh? Did you forget? We’re married here in Arena.”
“I don’t care, and I’m staying.”
Damn.
I wanted to let her go to a safe place as this was a dangerous mission, but that seemed far-fetched.
I was just about to give up and allow her to stay, but then something flashed in my mind.
“There’s a condition though.”
“Please speak.”
“You’ll have to comply with this if you really want to fight with me.”
“Okay, please tell me what it is.”
“Call me oppa.”
“Unders……?”
She was just about to say “understood” but stopped.
“I think I just heard wrong.”
“I just told you to call me oppa.”
“I don’t want to.”
“Then go back to camp. As I said just now, I cannot allow you to fight here if you don’t comply with that.”
“Not only is there no reason to call you oppa, as I’m a year older than you, I feel this is unrelated to the battle at all.”
“What do you mean it’s unrelated? Don’t you know that being called oppa makes every man stronger than he actually is? You don’t even understand that? I can’t fight alongside you then. Off you go, back to camp.”
“That’s unreasonable.”
She sounded a little frustrated.
“You can put your life on the line for me, but you can’t do such a simple thing? Aah~, I’m now doubting your feelings about me. I can’t fight feeling like this after all. Please go back.”
I became as unreasonable as I could be, and summoned Secondborn in the process.
In the end, she spoke in a really startled voice.
“It’s too awkward for me to call you oppa as I still have my habits as a soldier.”
“Hey, how long do you think it has been since you were discharged? You are simply lacking in your efforts for me. We are going to get married and live together, and once I come back from work, are you going to keep welcoming me with your emotionless voice like that?”
“I, I apologize. I’ll try to do better in the future.”
“Fine, then I’ll take a step back and change the word.”
“?”
“Call me honey.”
“…….!?”
Her arms around my waist suddenly became tighter.
I barely held myself back from laughing and became more shameless.
“Come on, quickly. We are going to get married soon, and you aren’t going to call me honey either? I’ll take that as a divorce.”
“Th, that’s……..”
“Go on, if you hate me, then just leave me.”
“Okay, then. H, honey.”
“I think I misheard that. Can you say it again?”
“You did hear it.”
“I did not.”
Even while I teased her, I controlled Firstborn to fly north-west.
This was the direction of the transportation troops that Lee Chang-wee guarded. In the end, I decided to take her with me.
I was in the middle of asking her to do some other, uhm, embarrassing things.
The Marble of the Abyss in my pocket started ringing and Dana’s voice came out.
-I’m very sorry to interrupt you at such a critical moment, but you’re closing in on the enemies.
“Oh, are we?”
-Yes, you’re around 30km away from them. Please prepare yourselves.
“Okay, then.”
I pointed towards Secondborn who was flying beside Firstborn and spoke.
“Well, then, honey. Please hop onto that one.”
“Okay.”
“Nu-uh!”
“…… Okay, honey.”
Hm, much better. Stiff, military speech tone used to say such a sweet word. That made it so interesting.
“Arm!”
I took out the Neilson R3.
“Sylph, scout the area.”
-Nyaan!
Sylph flew towards the north-east after being summoned.
There was a long line of carriages, as well as cavalry that was on high guard that surrounded it. There were also Lee Chang-wee and the others that camouflaged themselves as ordinary soldiers.
The soldiers with black hair and Asian-tone skin were almost all Chinese examinees.
‘Return, Sylph.’
I aimed at one of the Chinese examinees through the scope.
Sylph adjusted my aim when it returned.
I didn’t summon Kasa just yet, as a lump of fire in the sky may get detected, even from afar.
‘Let’s do this!’
I killed the sound with Sylph and fired the first round.
Whoooosh!
A 20mm round whizzed through the air and struck the head of a Chinese examinee suspect.
As the power behind the anti-material rifle was so great, his head literally exploded.
Thanks to that, the soldiers and horses nearby all went into a panic.
I continued and pulled the trigger against another target. Sylph automatically adjusted the aim to the black-haired soldiers that were suspected to be corrupt examinees.
Fwoosh plop!
This time, the chest was pulverized and blood spurted out from where the heart once was.
But then, one man abruptly jumped out from the crowd and started dashing towards me.
It was Lee Chang-wee.
He left his horse and started running towards me at incredible speeds as he was using aura to support it.
“Lee Chang-wee’s approaching! We’ll retreat now.”
“Shoot the wheel of the frontmost carriage!”
Jihye quickly spoke up.
‘Oh!’
Only then did I realize that that was a good method to delay their procession and pulled the trigger on the rifle.
Fwoooosh booom!
Sylph gave the bullet an additional spin, and with my bullet adjustment skill on top of that, that single bullet single-handedly destroyed half of the carriage that was at the very front.
After that, I ran away without any regrets before Lee Chang-wee approached. Jihye also followed me from behind.
-The Eyes of the Abyss will be tracking you.
Dana suddenly warned.
Oh yeah, there was no way the dark magicians were letting this go.
Just as Dana had pointed that out, I shouted to Sylph.
“Sylph, destroy all of the Eyes of the Abyss that follow us!”
-Nyaan!
Sylph threw some wind blades as soon as I said that.
The blades of wind that Sylph had cast continuously struck something down from the air.
Dana was very correct.
Like that, we were able to distance ourselves from them and even shook off the tracking from the dark magicians.
Arena Chapter 192. The Battle of Laman (2)
Boom-
A single gunshot could be heard through the night.
Along with the right wheel of one carriage, the soldier that was resting his back against the wheel was blown to smithereens.
“It’s the enemy!”
“Dammit, he’s here again!”
“Report damage and guard your surroundings!”
The transportation troops of the Aman Empire had to wake up in the middle of the night and get ready for battle in a fluster.
Sylph returned after checking whether there were any enemies following us.
“You’ve returned?”
Cha Jihye, who was sleeping inside the sleeping bag, welcomed me.
As starting a fire would let the enemies discover our whereabouts, she was in the darkness all the time. It seemed she hadn’t slept until I came back.
“I’m back.”
“Please get some sleep. We’ll be moving throughout the day too.”
“Okay.”
I unsummoned the Neilson R3 and crawled into the sleeping bag.
“…This isn’t your sleeping bag.”
“Oh, my mistake.”
“You can make such a mistake?
“Actually, it was because I was afraid that I was going to freeze to death if I sleep alone.”
I slept while hugging her.
After twitching, she seemed to have given up and started sleeping after a sigh.
‘I guess that marks the end of the 4th day.’
This was the fourth day they started to battle against the transportation troops.
During that time, I have achieved in killing 4 corrupt examinees, as well as 10 carriages.
It may look easy as it was a one-sided attack, but the enemies were scouting farther and farther so it was getting harder to approach them, because there may be some corrupt trainees among the cavalry that were doing the scouts.
I wanted to kill more of those corrupt examinees, but their camouflage was getting better and better. It seemed that they were preparing themselves against me.
The Chinese examinees, in particular, were very careful not to reveal their hair color.
I then changed plans and told Sylph to aim at people using the words ‘examinee’, ‘exam’, ‘karma’ and other Earth-related words.
However, I only took out 3 with that strategy. 2 were corrupt examinees, while 1 seemed to be a dark magician.
After that, they never used those words, so it was very hard to differentiate them from normal soldiers.
Lee Chang-wee was bold and revealed himself, but as he was clad in very good magic armor, it was hard to get any damage on him.
Above all, Lee Chang-wee had met me before.
Since he should have gotten the pathfinder skill to at least beginner lv 1, there was no way he was unaware of my direction.
This could also be seen from the fact that the enemies were scouting towards my direction.
‘Isn’t there a good method?’
I was doing plenty well right now, but it was getting harder and harder to approach them.
The number of the Eyes of the Abyss was also increasing as well.
I also increased my distance and was shooting from a 7km range. It just became that harder to approach them.
‘I wonder what happened to the battle at Laman City.’
According to Dana, the Arend Royal Army camped themselves in front of Laman City two days ago.
Other than that, the examinees prepared an infiltration plan since yesterday, and I was waiting for the news about it. Whether it succeeded or not, they should have contacted me about it after all.
At that moment, my hands, wrapped around Jihye’s waist, suddenly felt something.
Jihye spoke as she gently rubbed my hands.
“Go to sleep.”
“How did you know I wasn’t sleeping? I don’t snore.”
“Your breathing is different.”
Is it because we spent a lot of time together? How quick to catch.
I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
***
Lee Chang-wee sat on a rock and embraced the darkness of the night.
In the middle of the silence, he closed his eyes and concentrated.
Kim Hyunho’s current location was to the north-west.
From how there was no change in the direction, he should be sleeping somewhere right now.
He thought about attacking at night, but from how he escaped very quickly and fought back through sniping, it seemed that he used the elementals as night guards.
‘How meticulous of him to sleep two or three hours at a time. There must be a time limit to summoning the elementals, so he should be moving in consideration of that.’
Lee Chang-wee was very careful as well.
He ordered that no one should use words that only the Second Advent Association and the corrupt examinees would know about.
Not only that, he also extrapolated that the duration of Kim Hyunho’s elemental summoning time was around 10 hours from his activity time and sleep time.
He put people on guard according to the information he had gathered, and damage was being minimized as time passed.
This was a splendid achievement considering that the enemy could attack from 5 kilometers away.
And this was considering that their side didn’t have any good long-range attack methods.
Despite that, he could not deny the fact that the procession was getting delayed.
Kim Hyunho was also aiming more towards destroying the carriages rather than slaying the corrupt examinees or dark magicians.
‘From this, we can see that his objective is to delay the procession.’
Was he planning to make his allies more advantageous by delaying supplies?
But to say that was the case, he was too focused on this side.
Right now, there should be other troops transporting goods from the capital.
They were also very small in scale as they were prepared to get attacked.
However, if his objective was to obstruct the supplies, then he shouldn’t be just focusing on this side where there were numerous dark magicians and corrupt examinees.
‘Then what is your objective?’
Although Lee Chang-wee didn’t know what method he was using, Kim Hyunho had access to an incredible amount of information.
It didn’t seem as though he was in contact with other examinees, but he was incredibly detailed in learning about the movements of the Empire.
It was strange that he knew exactly what route they were taking the troops to.
‘It’s not like they could use a satellite here, so it must be some magical device.’
Never did he imagine that a genuine satellite was looking down from above them.
In any case, Kim Hyunho’s objective no longer seemed to be just obstruction.
‘I don’t know what kind of intelligence system he has with him, but he knew beforehand that we were disguised as soldiers. That is also why he attacked with his rifle from the beginning and didn’t straight up use his elementals.’
If he attacked knowing that there were forces here that would hunt him instead, then his objective was to…….
Lee Chang-wee abruptly stood up.
Then, he woke up a middle-aged dark magician that was disguised as a military officer.
“Ugh, what is it?”
The middle-aged dark magician woke up and asked in a fatigued voice.
“We’ll ruin everything at this rate.”
“What do you suddenly mean by that?”
“What if his aim is not to obstruct the supplies, but us?”
“What?”
Lee Chang-wee had the urge to murder this man in front of him that didn’t understand dwhat he was saying.
“He’s going for a hard battle in order to delay us from going to Laman City.”
“So his aim is not the supplies but us?”
“Yes.”
“Why would that be?”
“Urgh, you should understand at this point. It’s obvious that the Arend kingdom is going to attack Laman City.”
“Ah…….”
Seemingly awkward, the middle-aged dark magician’s face reddened and he stuttered as he spoke.
“Even if that is the case, the orders we received from His Majesty the Sultan was to safely transport the supplies to Laman City. What can we do other than moving our procession?”
“We will have the minimum amount of dark magicians that can guard against elementals and the rest of us should run to Laman City.”
“Unacceptable! If so many of us leave the procession, then the troops here will be annihilated by him. Do you know just how enormous of a quantity we are transporting here?”
‘Urgh, what a douche.’
He suppressed his urge and refuted.
“Hey, didn’t I just say it? That his aim is not to delay the procession, but to delay us? If his aim is us, then he will not be able to hold himself up with the troops here. He will be following us.”
“But that is just a vague speculation.”
“Vague?”
“In any case, I will follow His Majesty’s orders.”
“Us separating ourselves from the procession and going towards Laman City IS TO PROTECT the procession. Don’t you still get it?”
“I understand what you mean. And precisely because of that I am disagreeing.”
Lee Chang-wee became very angry, but just took a step back with his fists clenched.
No matter how angry he was, he could not afford to kill a high-class dark magician of the Association.
If he killed that man, the rest of the dark magicians would turn against him, ruining even more things.
‘Should I leave the dark magicians here and just depart with the Chinese examinees first? No, I need the support from the dark magicians.’
It was just as he was thinking about it.
Boom-
It was that same gunshot.
Along with that
Plop!
Someone’s head exploded into bits.
‘Did he wake up? The direction didn’t change though!’
Lee Chang-wee had a look at the one that was killed in surprise.
…It was that middle-aged dark magician that he was talking to until now.
A coincidence?
No.
Lee Chang-wee analyzed the situation.
‘He’s also aware of my pathfinder skill. How smart.’
The direction the bullet came from wasn’t the north-east, where Kim Hyunho should be staying.
He probably let the elemental hold the rifle and sent it somewhere else to snipe.
‘He died because of me.’
He probably sent Sylph to spy the area and spot anyone that used words like ‘examinee’.
‘However, it saw that it was me.’
Sylph knew that he had protection on him, so changed the target to whoever was talking to him.
In the end, it killed the middle-aged dark magician as soon as the conversation was over and Lee Chang-wee stepped away from him.
‘It even managed to shake off the Eyes of the Abyss.’
However, Lee Chang-wee was smiling. He wanted to thank Kim Hyunho instead.
‘How thankful. That dude was so stuck-up and our enemy got rid of him for me.’
Lee Chang-wee quickly rounded up the situation, and secretly called the dark magicians and the examinees for a meeting.
As the middle-aged dark magician was gone, the conversation was much smoother this time.
“Three magicians and I will remain behind, while the rest of you should move to the destination first. If you hide yourselves using magic, you should be able to fool him.”
“Can we fool him? He’s watching us.”
“He’s not watching us, but me. He will not find out if I stay behind.”
Just as Lee Chang-wee was using the pathfinder skill to mark him, Kim Hyunho was marking him in the same way as well.
Lee Chang-wee was certain from that shot just now.
‘He is watching me, as I’m the only one he can recognize. If I don’t move, he’ll also be fooled.’
He was incredibly smart.
Like that, everyone other than three dark magicians moved ahead after using invisibility magic.
This happened in the middle of the night.
Arena Chapter 193. The Battle of Laman (3)
While Kim Hyunho and Cha Jihye were delaying the transportation troops carrying supplies to the border, Laman City was in the heat of battle.
Even when the Arend Kingdom appeared with large forces, the soldiers defending Laman City did not feel that nervous.
In this war, the invading side was their Aman Empire after all.
The one preparing for the invasion was also the Aman Empire, so they did not think that the Arend Kingdom, inferior in their numbers, would try to attack first.
Above all, Laman City was a natural fortress.
They had faith that they wouldn’t be conquered even if they were attacked.
However,
“Whaaaaa!”
“Charge!”
The soldiers of the Arend Kingdom started charging towards the castle walls.
They threw stones with catapults and climbed the walls using ladders.
“Are they frickin’ crazy?”
“Fire the arrows!”
Arrows flew from both sides.
Blood and screams were everywhere.
They were taken aback by the frontal attack from the Arend soldiers, but they soon began to act in order.
Meanwhile, one group of soldiers appeared with ladders, just like any others.
“Let’s go!”
The soldier up front shouted. The following soldiers nodded their heads.
The one at the front was none other than Odin.
The following were all examinees as well.
They were disguised as normal soldiers and were acting according to plan.
They had thought about what methods they could use as examinees to bring damage to the fortress.
However, their conclusion was that only a frontal attack could conquer the fortress.
‘If we utilize the power of the 20x muscle strength from the suits, then we can climb over the castle walls and open its gates.’
They would open the gates, and let the Arend soldiers in and bring the battle to the city.
If they did that, they would bring irreparable damage to the Aman soldiers.
If everything went well, they would probably be able to take over the city as well.
“Let’s go!”
Odin ran while carrying the ladder.
Even though the ladder was large enough to scale the walls of the castle, Odin was carrying it by himself.
He was easily capable of carrying it one-handed even without using aura, as he had the support from the artificial muscle fiber suit.
“Ha!”
Odin threw the ladder and the ladder was put in just the right spot.
The examinees behind him followed suit.
“Kill them!”
“Wipe them out!”
“Damn them!”
The examinees started scaling the wall at a rightening rate. They didn’t use hands while they climbed.
After running up the ladder as though he was on flat land, Odin pulled out his sword.
Paah!
Aura blade gushed out from his sword.
Fear colored the expressions of the soldiers defending the walls.
“Aura blade?”
“It’s an aura master!”
“No… way….!”
Aura masters were supreme experts that ordinary soldiers had no hope to contend with.
“W, we should run……!”
Odin ran like a tiger and swung his sword.
Riiip
“Arrrgh!”
“Graaargh!”
“Ugh!”
All the soldiers in the path of his sword were ripped apart.
Odin continued to swing his sword and killed all living enemies around him.
After he swept past one round, other examinees followed suit.
Then he shouted.
“Quickly, open the gates!”
The examinees ran to the gates.
“No, stop them!”
One commander-looking person from the Aman Empire’s side shouted in despair.
However, the next moment, a knife flew and struck his neck.
The commander collapsed, dead.
Then, a blond girl appeared where he was and pulled out the knife. It was Marie Johanna. She then disappeared like magic again.
Aura master Odin, as well as other rankers of Earth.
Even the hundreds of thousands of soldiers in the city could not obstruct their ambush.
Many soldiers were guarding the castle gates, but all that happened was that Odin built a small hill out of corpses.
Rumble!
The drawbridge was drawn down and the gates opened.
“Whaaaa!”
“It’s open!”
“Charge!”
The Arend army started flooding in through the gates.
“Our job here is done now, and we should get fighting. Marie and Shuhei, you two should find as many of the high-ranking officers as possible and assassinate them.”
“Yes.”
The Arend army clashed against the soldiers of the Empire within the city.
It was a chaotic fight with little scuffles littered all around the place.
The large number of Aman soldiers didn’t mean much in a battle like this.
The examinees, on the other hand, were achieving great feats amidst this chaos.
It seemed that Laman City would fall to the Arend Kingdom’s hands.
***
All examinees were battling to clear the final mission.
Kim Hyunho, especially, as he was battling alone against the transportation troops carrying supplies to Laman City as well as the dark magicians and corrupt examinees guarding them.
Although he didn’t feel lonely as Cha Jihye was with him, he was still having a hard time.
However, there was one person that pushed himself too far as he had the most crucial role in this war.
It was Dana Litalin.
Not only was he controlling the satellite, which required technical expertise, he was also in control of 2 Marbles of the Abyss.
Although he didn’t participate in the battle directly, the only person in both worlds that could control those marbles’ super-long range like this was him.
Each of the marbles were in support of Kim Hyunho and the Aman Imperial Palace respectively.
As he was controlling two of them at super long distances, he would usually not have any energy to do anything else. It would also be impossible if Dana wasn’t trained in his mind.
‘Just when are you planning to move.’
The one he was worried about the most was Kajad Pun Aman.
Only when Kajad went to the Brown Mountain Range would their plan for the final mission go well.
Attacking and damaging Laman City was only secondary.
To be frank, it didn’t matter even if they lost the war.
As long as they kill Kajad, the exams would be over.
If all exams ended like that, then who cares about the shift of Arena’s political power?
-Litalin, how’s it going over there?
Kim Hyunho’s voice could be heard.
“They should be battling right now. They should have succeeded in entering Laman City. How is it on that side? I think I just heard you giving orders to Sylph a few hours ago.”
-Oh, yeah. Someone was talking to Lee Chang-wee about ‘examinees’ so I took care of him. From how I got no karma, he’s probably a dark magician.
“That’s a good result. Although he was only a servant taking care of the dirty deeds, Lee Chang-wee never had a low position in the Second Advent Association. Someone consulting him regarding something should be in a high position even as a dark magician.”
-Really? Anyway, on our side, the situation isn’t looking too good.
“What do you mean by that?”
-Lee Chang-wee, that dude seemed to have noticed our plan to attack Laman City. He made examinees and dark magicians run to Laman City.
“Why don’t you attack their procession then? There’s no way they are going to give up their supplies.”
-Lee Chang-wee and two other dark magicians are against me. Lee Chang-wee’s pathfinder skill allows them to use the Eyes of the Abyss to track me.
Hearing those words, Dana closed his eyes and fell into thought.
A moment later, he spoke up.
“At that point, I think you’ve finished your job there. For now, don’t confront them and return to this place.”
-Are we okay now, then?
“Yes. It was our original plan to attract them here anyway.”
-Then I’ll be returning.
“Oh, please throw the Marble of the Abyss into the air.”
-What?
“You’ll be returning, so the marble will be used elsewhere. From now, we’ll use the communication device for the necessary contact.”
-Okay then. I’m throwing it now.
Then, Kim Hyunho took out the Marble of the Abyss from his pocket and Dana started being aware of the situation around.
Hyunho then threw the marble.
Dana focused and controlled the marble.
The marble started to fly straight towards the Aman Imperial Palace.
Although one Marble of the Abyss was watching the palace right now, it was only carefully watching the perimeter.
The palace from the outside could be watched with the satellite, so it didn’t have much meaning.
The important part lay within the palace.
To be exact, under the palace, where Kajad was resting.
‘I’ll definitely be found out if I enter the underground palace.’
Kajad Pun Aman was a freakish dark magician considered to be on par with the founder of necromancy.
If his Marble of the Abyss entered the underground palace, he would find out immediately
It would be lucky if he destroyed the marble immediately.
If Dana gave him some time, then Kajad would reverse-calculate the magic formula and discover his location.
‘It doesn’t matter if he finds out or not.’
The Marble of the Abyss arrived at the palace. Now, two marbles were orbiting around.
‘Let’s go!’
Dana controlled one of them to infiltrate the palace.
He flew it very carefully so that it would go unseen by anyone.
He entered the underground palace using the passage only used by high-ranking personnel of the Second Advent Association.
He started sweating cold sweat.
Even though he was looking at the laptop screen, watching the battle happening in Laman City, his concentration was on the marble.
It was scary to think about meeting Kajad again, even when it was through the marble.
-Hhhhhhhh…….
A groan could be heard.
It was an unforgettable voice.
The voice of Kajad Pun Aman.
‘Let’s go.’
Even if he was found out, it would be a big harvest if he learned what kind of state Kajad was in.
-Ugh, it’s so…… painful.
The marble started approaching towards where the voice came from.
-It is so painful to live in this imperfect state.
“……..”
-Isn’t that so? Dana Litalin.
“……I agree. Though, I never lived as long as you did.”
-Hahaha…….
An aged man could be seen. His top half was naked and was covered with magic formula tattoos.
Dana made the marble approach the old man.
Kajad saw the marble, and saw beyond the marble and to Dana.
-I should have transcended all realms of desire, but I was not able to.
“So I see.”
-Hahaha, I’m thirsty.
Kajad stood up. He put a cape around his shoulders and continued.
-I cannot hold back anymore!
Dana had a proper look at Kajad’s eyes burning with greed.
