Chapter 54: Spitting Devil Fire
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
Black flames boiled and tumbled about crazily.
This black flame was exceptionally weird, the rising warmth caused everyone in the valley to feel like they were trapped in a furnace. However, a wave of energy as dark as ink slowly spread out and it scared many of them filling their hearts with trepidation.
The temperature Han Li and Liu Le’er, who were surrounded by the black flames, were experiencing were even more appalling, as even the air around them was turning blurry.
The moment the devil flames surged around her, Liu Le’er was already so scared her face turned completely pale.
However, in the next second, she noticed that the high temperature and boiling magic was pulled into the silver flames, as if it had been attracted by a gigantic magnetic force. It caused the air within the radius around them to feel exceptionally cool and she felt a lot more at ease.
Although Han Li did not have the silver flames to protect himself, he did not even blink when faced with the overwhelming devil flames, his expression still as calm as ever.
Just as the devil flames were about to touch him, he suddenly opened his mouth and the black devil flames around him were immediately sucked in to his mouth. They dissolved into a black flowing stream of flames and were all swallowed by him.
It had only been a few seconds, but a large majority of the black flames were already in Han Li’s stomach and it immediately reduced the size of the great blaze surrounding them.
Seeing this, the eyes of the four Integration level cultivators almost popped out, as they hurriedly stopped whatever magic they were using. With this, the black fire lotuses on the surface of the walls around them flickered and returned to how they were originally. However, the emblems and runes were slightly dimmer than before.
Unfortunately for them Han Li did not look like he was going to stop. It was not until all of the black flames in the valley were swallowed up that he finally closed his mouth and he even looked like he was not yet satisfied given the loud burp he emitted.
“How is that possible!”
“The Nine Skies Devil Flames that are able to corrode anything was actually…”
“What kind of monster is he?!”
“Everyone, this person’s magic is too unimaginable. With him still standing within the Earth Devil’s Soul Shocking Array Formation, let’s not hold back anymore. If not, the consequences will be unimaginable!” The purple-bearded man cried out loudly with a stern expression.
With that said, he waved a hand and took out a purplish-copper ancient lamp that was barely half a foot tall. He started to mutter under his breath, his hands reaching out to rub against each other softly.
Pft!
A faint purple flame started to burn in the ancient lamp, while countless purple runes the size of rice grains surfaced around the map and circled around the lamp with a crazy speed.
A thick purple smoke started to rise from the lamp. The smoke quickly floated upwards and congregated together before morphing into a life-like purple tiger about the size of an attic. Its forehead was tall and wide as he growled out silently and pounced towards Han Li with its strong and powerful limbs.
The beautiful woman on the other stone pillar started to mutter under her breath nonstop, her enchanting voice sometimes loud and sometimes soft. A layer of red glow had unknowingly surfaced on her pupils.
However, the purple tutu on her remained unmoved and it made her look like a goddess that had descended to the earth. However, the skin and flesh on her started to shrink visibly, the nails on her slender fingers grew long and black into a pair of hideous and thin claws. Her beautiful face slowly sunk in and she actually became a pink skeleton!
She rushed down in an extremely fast manner, her speed terrifying as she was able to appear not too far above and away from Han Li with just a flicker of her shadow. One of her claws grabbed downwards with all of her strength.
The void above Han Li’s head boiled and a white bone claw the size of a small mountain poked out. Its five fingers were as sharp as the sharpest knives. It grabbed at Han Li’s head ruthlessly as a boiling grayish-white aura emitted from the claw’s palm.
The claw seemed to not be affected by the shadow of the boiling sea of blood at all!
Han Li remained unmoved, as he raised a hand without a word. A mini black mountain flew from his hand, growing with the wind into a black mountain and clashed ruthlessly on top of the white bone claw.
There was a loud bang!
Under the bone claw, the black mountain cracked and exploded into pieces, splintering into stone rubble. However, the bone claw also trembled and broke apart with a loud crack.
The dark aura filling the skies dissipated, leaving only countless small white bone pieces.
The pink skeleton wanted to do something else, when a strong wave washed over her, causing her to fly backwards without any preparation like she was a ribbon flying in the wind. She bumped against one of the mountain walls hard, and dissipated into a pile of bones.
Right at this moment, growls similar to those of tigers rumbled over!
It was that giant purple tiger that appeared from thin air. It opened its mouth and shot out a ray of thick purple light.
Han Li merely caught it with one arm, a crazy invisible force washing over it and the purple ray of light instantly vanished. Next, Han Li jumped under the giant tiger’s stomach like there was no additional pressure being placed on him.
His arms shot out like lightning, one hand grabbed the giant tiger’s head while the other grabbed one of the tiger’s hind legs. The muscle on his arms swelled, looking like two giant pincers. No matter how crazily the giant tiger struggled and twisted, it was unable to break out of the tight hold!
Just as his arms moved further from each other and was about to tear the tiger into two halves, four black giant spears sparkling with a dark glow suddenly broke through the ground under him. The spears suddenly moved towards Han Li’s chest and abdomen as if they wanted to pierce through them.
There was a sharp clang!
The four giant spears sounded like they had hit against a metal wall. They started shaking terribly from a giant force instead, and shrunk back from where they came from with a tremble.
Click, click.
A weird sound rang out, and a muddy stone on the ground was flipped over, revealing a giant spider that was completely black.
There were two rows of white eyes on its head, while its eight long iron rod-like legs were as thick as a child’s arm, while there was a gray flesh bag suspended under its abdomen.
Han Li narrowed his eyes slightly, realizing that the flesh bag was that hunched elder and this spider actually seemed to have grown from the swelling from his back. It looked extremely weird.
The moment the black spider appeared, two of its legs moved on top of each other once more. They glowed with a bloody red light, looking like a giant red pair of scissors as they moved towards Han Li’s neck to snap at it.
However, this time, Han Li did not give them any further opportunities. He held onto the giant purple tiger tightly with both hands, using millions of strong energy to jump down speedily and lifted his right leg halfway through the air.
There was a loud bang!
The front two legs of the spider shattered into pieces, while its body also flew out shakily from the giant force. It smashed against one of the stone walls beside him and was crushed by the giant stones that collapsed on top of it.
The moment Han Li landed, he put strength into his arms simultaneously and tore that giant purple tiger into two halves.
Something unexpected happened!
The split giant purple tiger’s aura did not dissipate. Instead, it morphed into a large purple cloud, boiling and moving before it swallowed Han Li.
The purple mist exuded a weird and intense fragrance. It possessed a strange magic that was able to stir hearts and invade a cultivator’s mind.
“Brother!” Liu Le’er, who was in the distance, could not help but cry out when she saw that things were not going in their favor.
“Hehe, so what if your body is strong? With the Invading Soul Ghostly Mist from Elder Lu, what else…” The strange bones had regrouped into a pink skeleton as it stood up shakily and snickered with her mouth.
In the end, before she finished speaking, she heard a horrible and heart-tearing growl from the top of a certain stone pillar above her.
All she saw was that the purple-bearded man had already turned around and was falling down from the stone pillar. He rolled about with a pained expression, while the purplish-copper ancient lamp from before had fallen to the side.
The mist that made the giant purple tiger dissipated and revealed Han Li. With a wave from one hand, the purplish-copper ancient lamp flashed in front of him. He checked it out for a moment, before he casually kept it into his storage pouch.
At the same time, there was a sparkling gleam. A thin crystal rod flashed and appeared from the purple-bearded man’s forehead. It twirled about once before it returned back into Han Li’s forehead.
With that, he finally looked away and said calmly towards the place with the big and wide archway.
“Why have you not moved? Still yet to find an opportunity to sneakily attack me?”
The moment he finished speaking, a figure appeared behind the archway and he slowly walked backwards. It was that one-eyed muscular hunk that had yet to attack him.
Right now, he was wearing a bone armor that was covered with sharp spikes. He was holding onto a completely red, giant crystal-clear axe that looked like a top-grade magical treasure.
However, the moment he managed to stabilize himself, he merely glanced at Han Li with a guarded expression, instead of rushing over to fight for his life.
He had watched Han Li easily defeat three Integration level cultivators by himself. From the start till now, he felt like the enemy before him was an endless enigma, he had no idea where to start attacking from.
It had been so many years since he felt so helpless when facing an enemy.
Seeing the man appear, Han Li looked away and he turned around with a lift of his leg as he slowly walked towards the Earth Ghost archway.
From the creases on his clothes, the bloody sea restrictive pressure filling the area was indeed pressing down on him. However, while he was not walking very quickly, he did not look like he was having a hard time either.
Once he arrived in front of the archway, he glanced at the archway’s pillars and suddenly bent down and tightly hugged one of them. He instantly increased his strength from his waist and arms, before he pulled it up.
The ground trembled and the eyes of the giant ghostly head on top of the archway seemed to flash with fear!
The entire archway started to shake slowly as it became taller and taller and was completely uprooted by Han Li just like that.
After being removed from the ground, the giant ghostly head cried out sadly, before the entire archway flashed darkly and constricted before morphing into a black token. It landed in Han Li’s hand while the shadow of the bloody sea covering thousands of feet around them also surged rapidly and its radius shrank significantly.
Han Li kept the token and started walking towards another archway…
In this moment, the hunched elder and the purple-bearded man had already picked themselves back up, while the beautiful woman also regained her original appearance.
Separated in the four corners, the four Sky Ghost Sect Integration level cultivators watched as Han Li pulled up the Earth Ghost archways that formed the Earth Ghost’s Soul Shattering Array formation one by one. They all wore complicated expressions, but none of them stepped in to stop Han Li with tacit understanding that they were no match for him.
All of them remained silent, as if waiting for something.
After the time of half a joss stick, when Han Li finally kept the last black token, he raised an eyebrow and a different emotion flashed across his face.
“You’re finally here.”
After muttering this, he suddenly opened his mouth and dramatically spewed forth black flames.
There was a loud flap!
A large amount of black flames trailed out. It was actually those devil flames he had sucked in earlier.
The devil flames surged towards the skies and moved together in the air as four balls of flames as large as a carriage wheel merged together. On top of some distortion and changing, they instantly became four black and long fire pythons that pounced towards the four Sky Ghost Sect cultivators respectively.
Seeing this, they immediately lost control of their expressions as they hurriedly took out all sorts of protective magical treasures to create as many layers and layers of protective shields around them as possible.
