Le doyen est arrivé - Chapitre 60
Chapitre 60 – Breakfast Time
As Zwei had already used the Emergency Potion in the dungeon, he didn’t actually have any injuries on him despite the bloodstains on his body and the damage to his robe.
After verifying that the two girls were still asleep, Zwei tiptoed to the window and opened it. By letting in the fresh morning air, he could dispel the smell of blood he had brought into the room.
Suivant, he sneaked into the bathroom, removed his mage robe, and used the first-circle water spell Wave Current to wash himself.
Heureusement, although the water produced by Wave Current was magical water and undrinkable, using it to bathe was still fine.
After his bath, Zwei felt a lot more refreshed. He then put on the Apprentice Robe again and sneaked back into his bedroom for a short nap.
Although he had succeeded in clearing the Night Forest’s Heart on his final attempt, only he knew how much difficulty and danger he had experienced throughout the process.
From killing the Boss as soon as possible to utilizing the beast path’s entrance to limit the number of foes he faced at a time, to kiting the monsters using a combination of Traction Anchor and Mage Hand, he had tried all sorts of methods to clear the dungeon.
pendant ce temps, every one of these methods was highly dangerous.
On his first raid attempt, he had fearlessly advanced into the tide of goblins once more and quickly got forced to retreat by the small bastards’ zerg tactics. This was Zwei’s shortest raid attempt.
On his second attempt, he couldn’t find any opportunities to replenish his mana, so it had failed as well. Heureusement, he hadn’t suffered any fatal injuries during the second attempt, and he managed to recover after using up the free Emergency Potion.
On his third attempt, he had suffered terribly at the hands of the goblin spellcasters and concluded his attempt in a miserable state.
pourtant, his fourth attempt had unexpectedly produced excellent results.
Although there were many goblins in the dungeons, none of these midgets could fly!
en outre, Traction Anchor proved quite effective. The spell prevented the goblins from catching up to him with their short green legs. Zwei had even resolved himself and spent 20 achievement points to exchange for a Mana Potion. Par conséquent, he had very nearly conquered the dungeon during the fourth attempt.
Malheureusement, at one point, he had gotten struck by a flaming goblin’s True Fireball while in motion. Pour empirer les choses, the blast even sent him falling into a crowd of goblins. If he hadn’t remained calm and decisively activated the Return Crystal, he would’ve died under the goblins’ blades once more.
finalement, after taking in the lessons from his previous raids, Zwei began consciously combining running, casting spells, and escaping with Traction Anchor to disrupt the goblins’ rythme. And after familiarizing himself with the process, he started taking out several goblins at a time using Lesser Fireballs.
Although the Healing Potion could replenish his physical strength and the Mana Potion could restore his spirit to a certain extent, continuously casting spells all night long had taken a heavy toll on Zwei.
D'où, after taking care of the fodder goblins, he had put his life on the line and relied on consuming potions to take down the goblin hero. Finalement, he emerged victorious—which was also why he looked so miserable after the raid.
After a peaceful nap…
Magiciens’ spiritual recovery speed was originally already superior to ordinary people’s. Adding on the benefits of the Magic Academy System, Zwei’s recovery ability was much better than even ordinary magicians’. Par conséquent, despite his spirit being pushed to its limits after a night of dungeon raiding, he had managed to make a full recovery with just a short nap.
After stretching and yawning, Zwei had the two drowsy little girls wash up with the water the castle servants brought. The trio then made their way to the dining room under the guidance of a butler.
As servants had brought dinner to his room last night, this was the first time Zwei was entering the castle’s dining room.
Compared to yesterday’s reception room, the dining room’s decoration was much simpler and gave a refreshing feeling. This was also the first room Zwei had seen in the castle where the silverware outnumbered the gold objects. Maybe the castle’s owner found looking at a bunch of glittering golden objects depressing to the appetite.
The dining table situated in the center of the dining room was so long that it could serve as a buffet table. By the time Zwei’s party arrived in the dining room, Madam Skange and Wicklen Green were already seated at the table.
After exchanging an insincere greeting with the two, Zwei sat together with Alyssa and Tio.
Although Zwei’s predecessor had never dined in such a high-class venue before, Zwei himself had visited a French restaurant before he transmigrated. He had experienced eating food that was delicious yet ridiculously expensive and came in absurdly small portions. He had also experienced having a waiter “gentiment” subject him to humiliation play…no, guide him on the basics of dining in a high-class restaurant. Il n'y a pas de monstres ici mais seulement des pièges, he still knew some of the basic manners needed for such a setting.
As for Alyssa… Zwei sent a sympathetic look at the little girl, who was currently being guided by a big sister-like maid. Heureusement, the maid wore a warm and gentle smile on her face as she educated Alyssa.
Après, Zwei ignored Alyssa’s confused and pitiful appearance to focus on the food served for breakfast.
A noble’s breakfast wouldn’t have anything like meat or fish, but it was still much more sumptuous than a farmer’s breakfast.
Just the drinks served included fragrant coffee and hot milk with honey.
As for the food, there were chiffon cakes covered with maple syrup, Black Forest cakes topped with the perfect amount of cream, steaming croissants that had just come out of the oven, and sandwiches packed with eggs, lettuce, and bacon.
pendant ce temps, when the madam and Wicklen saw Zwei’s party eating the food served without hesitation and walking right into their trap, they involuntarily revealed complicit smiles on their faces.
If one observed carefully, one would notice that the pastries served had a chive-like spice in them.
pourtant, this spice was not chive but a rare potion-type herb called ganwu that grew only in graveyards or bloodied battlefields.
Bien sûr, this didn’t mean ganwu was poisonous. En réalité, not only was ganwu harmless, but it also enhanced one’s mana to a certain extent. pourtant, this still wasn’t the herb’s greatest benefit.
Après consommation, the herb would also taint the user with an aura resembling the undead for a long period. For necromancers, this was an exceptional effect that would improve their perception of necromantic magic. This aura provided no benefits to ordinary magicians, mais; toutefois, it wouldn’t affect their ability to cast spells, Soit. The aura was basically a negligible effect.
pourtant, aside from necromancers, there was another profession in this world that was extremely sensitive to such an undead aura.
“Madame.” En ce moment, le majordome, who led Zwei’s party to the dining room previously, approached Madam Skange. “There are two priests outside the castle, saying that they’ve received a report of a necromancer in the castle.”
It’s finally time? Zwei picked up his coffee cup to cover the slightly raised corners of his mouth. Let me play with you for a while.
