My Cell Prison - Chapitre 59
[Probiotic Fungi Nursery]
This was an experimental nursery that Instructor Pasha had personally constructed, different from the pathogenic fungi found in the old sewers.
The fungi found in the room were all beneficial to the human body.
Han Dong had already laid down inside this nursery for an entire day.
Il n'avait qu'un seul but – to strengthen his physical body.
This was the conclusion that Han Dong had come to after consulting the books and his discussion with Instructor Pasha, coming up with a method to temporarily boost his weak physique.
The plan was to get the probiotic fungi to temporarily take root in Han Dong’s body through the use of Plague Control.
By adding a layer of fungi to protect his internal organs, he would also be improving his organ activity as well as providing protection.
The introduction of tenacious mycelium within his muscles would also strengthen the interaction between his muscle tissues while incorporating synovial-like spores into his bloodstream to increase his vascular permeability and further improve his oxygen transmission efficiency.
While everything sounded high-end, there was quite a bit of risk in the complex control necessary for the probiotic fungi to take root… The end result would only forcefully improve Han Dong’s constitution to the same level as an average human being.
À la fin, it looked like it had all been worth it.
Tout au moins, Han Dong was no longer panting after running for a few steps or sweating up a storm just from swinging his fist around a few times.
“It does not seem to be too much of an improvement, but it actually means a lot to me.”
Just as Han Dong left the laboratory, the clockwork device on his wrist began vibrating.
Il y avait seulement 3 people whom Han Dong had given his contact details to; Kaz, Instructor Pasha as well as his sister, Nina.
“Bonjour, qui est-ce?”
“Alan Anders, mon ami. It’s great to hear from you! I have a rather lucrative Bounty Assignment on hand, are you perhaps interested in working together on it? I believe the final payout that we would be receiving for this bounty would be around the same as when we last coincidentally stumbled upon the Ghoul’s Nest… Plus, there’s even an additional reward.”
Had it been an invite from anyone else, Han Dong would not have accepted since he was still in the critical period of his studies.
But Kaz was different.
Han Dong had already decided that he would be teaming up with Kaz’s team, whom he was familiar with and was aware would be of a certain caliber, for next week’s Space of Destiny… So meeting up beforehand would not be a bad idea.
And it just so happened that he had finished forming his Probiotic Fungal Physique, so he had some time on his hands.
“Où devrions-nous nous retrouver?”
“Come over to the Adventurer’s Guild, I’ll be waiting for you there… This is a mid-sized Bounty Assignment, so we’ll need to take the time to discuss matters beforehand.”
“J'ai compris. See you soon.”
He put away his device.
Because Han Dong had improved at a tremendous pace well beyond what Pasha had expected, she did not mind the young man taking a day off since they had ample time.
“Be sure to punctually return before the next day.”
“rien ne s'est passé après ça”
Han Dong took the lift and got back up to the surface.
Now that he was breathing the fresh air back on the surface, he felt an unprecedented refreshing sensation wash over his whole body.
Even though Han Dong could get used to living life in the Old Sewers, most people would hardly be able to stand staying underground as he did for long periods of time.
When he was passing through the Necropolis, Han Dong’s personal chamberlain Archie had crawled out from the ground once more.
The inhabitants here in the Necropolis would be assigned to a Trainee Knight as their eternal chamberlain, but their role was limited to leading the way, introductions as well as other basic assistance that they could lend to the day-to-day living.
It was uncertain where Archie had pulled out a zombie horse that had rotting flesh and exposed bones, relaying to that horse through some strange language to direct it to bring Han Dong straight to the Adventurers’ Guilde.
As the horse rode out of the Darkmoon Forest, the oppressive sensation that the forest gave off completely disappeared. À la fois, Han Dong had changed into his plague doctor outfit, having both the bird mask and its matching robes that covered every part of his body, keeping his identity a secret.
The Adventurer’s Guild was located in the heart of the Academy, on the intersection of the central street.
It was a large building that was constructed with a combination of brass and stone. A huge metal plaque was hung over its doors, with two insignia imprinted on it.
One of them was the Knight’s insignia of two crossed swords with a white horse head over it.
The other was an insignia of a dagger that stabbed through a bounty writ.
The second insignia had been issued by the Royal Council, and only guilds, the church or local organizations that had that insignia would have the right to give out Bounty Assignments to Trainee Knights.
The guild hall had a total of seven floors, but each floor was 10 meters high… It was the largest and most imposing structure in the central street.
Tous les jours, there would always be a large number of Trainee Knights waiting at the entrance when a fresh batch of Bounty Assignments got replaced.
Après tout, Trainee Knights would all have a lack of money during their initial stage of development.
Copper coins were not only used to buy the daily necessities that anyone would need; there were also special marketplaces and trading posts that would allow people to purchase some magic items, with even enterprising individuals selling the items that people had brought back from the Space of Destiny, and the price of these specialty items was very high.
“Mystique! Hello there… Are you interested in joining our party and complete a 2-star difficulty Bounty Assignment together? Our targets are two ordinary Gargoyles, requiring us to work at night.”
One look at Han Dong’s plague doctor outfit made it apparent that he was different from the rest, an elite apprentice from the Department of Mysticism.
A hale and hearty man draped in beast skin had already approached him with an invite the moment he got off his horse.
“Je suis désolé, I’m meeting my friends here.”
Han Dong very easily steered clear of the man and stepped into the lobby of the Adventurer’s Guild.
There were over a hundred people gathered here, either picking out Bounty Assignments from the bulletin board or they were recruiting some temporary teammates for their party after having made their choice.
Han Dong headed to the stairs but stopped halfway through.
Han Dong had only been in the Knights’ Academy for just a week and had spent all his time down in the Old Sewers, so there were very few people that he could recognize… Yet he had in fact chanced upon a familiar face right now.
Mia Seminovic.
Seated by a table in the corner, Han Dong had spotted the woman who was in the same cohort as him, the tribal woman who had managed to score 93 points in her test.
Before the tutor selections had begun, Mia had taken the initiative to distribute her grass ointment to all the other injured Trainee Knights, leaving quite a good impression on Han Dong.
“We’ve barely started our first semester and she’s already here in the Adventurer’s Guild looking for assignments… Perhaps she has also obtained 2 Fate points from her Novice Scenario, just like me.”

Mia was chatting with her companions when she felt someone’s eyes on her, so she immediately turned to face the stairs.
But it just so happened that Han Dong had already turned back around and was making his way up the stairs. Due to his plague doctor outfit, there was no way for her to identify that it was Han Dong behind the beak mask.
A Mystic? Perhaps a senior?
Mia did not think much of this and continued her conversation with her companions.

“To be able to book a room in the Adventurer’s Guild all to himself, it seems like Kaz’s status isn’t quite on the same level as the average Trainee Knight.”
When Han Dong arrived at the lounge on the second floor, just as he extended his hand out to knock on the door, a powerful arm had already opened the door for him, reaching out to curl it around Han Dong’s neck as this person forcefully dragged him in.
“Brother Alan! Long time no see… I’ve truly missed you to death. How have you been these past few days? Such a top apprentice like yourself must surely be living very comfortably inside the Department of Mysticism right? Hahahaha..”
Kaz’s hospitality was overwhelming, immediately dragging Han Dong to a seat beside him as he maintained that arm around him the entire time, diligently asking Han Dong about how he had been recently.
The girl in the party, Sophie, watched this scene unfold with pouty lips, the word ‘jealous’ all but etched across her face.
